If anyone has taught me anything about what it means to be a Christian, it would be my father.
I've been a Christian ever since i was about 6 when I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. I somewhat understood what i was doing but not to the extent that I understand now what it means to be a Christian. I went to church, read my bible, and prayed every night. Thats what I was taught to do. But I would say I didn't do those things with complete sincerity, because i was still young and I didn't fully understand what was expected of me.
When i was about 12 and a half my father started showing me how to implement what i was taught those early years of my life, into my everyday life. He encouraged me to get baptized, and that year I did, and it was a life changing experience. From then on I saw things through a different light. It was like the Holy Spirit fell upon me that day, and the few months after I finally started to grasp and understand what it meant to be a Christian.
I would say that my father has been an awesome encourager and supporter and I thank God for Him. He is a person who I will always remember in my life because of his genuine love for God and for the inspiration that he has given me.
