are plagued with apathy- the lack of caring. In my life a few years
ago it was almost everyone I knew. Not one seemed to care for who I was
becoming or what I was doing not only to myself but to those around me. Not one until a lovely Spirit-filled woman of God cared to take a second look at me and listened to the nudge of God.
An apathetic god isn’t much hope for anyone- is it now? Of course not! Sandy showed me God’s compassion for me, she showed me that God does care and that He wanted me to be the someone He created me to be. Our God is not an apathetic God, and thank Him for it! God allowed Sandy a way to witness to me- without even the simplest of words. Her actions- her works- showed me all of what I needed to see of God. Without being showed that He was my hope, then I wouldn’t be writing this today. I wouldn’t have had the opportunity one day, many years ago to truly sanctify myself for Him and accept that I was to be a martyr for my Christ. A Christian shouldn’t live both apathetically and caring. You can only be one or the other. I choose to be caring- apathy does no good. It actually is a false testimony to our God, it leads others away from Christ. I challenge us all to be caring and loving and show others that God is hope, that He is our everything and can change even the greatest, the lowest of sinners.
Kate-
You have a God-given heart of compassion! What an incredible example of Christ Sandy has been in your life. I loved how you put “Our God is not an apathetic God, and thank Him for it.” So true!
Kate
thank you for sharing your story about Sandy. I thank God for the people like Sandy that He puts in all of our lives. I pray that you and your team can be someone like Sandy to the people that you meet in Swazi.
Hey Kate,
It is providential that you wrote this blog. Today I was really ticked off at all the apathy that goes on at my small Christian school. People call themselves Christians, but they don’t live like it, only a small number actually live out their faith.
But what you helped me to realize is that it takes one person who takes a stand and is not apathetic, but is willing work anyone that God leads them to, it’s not something to bet upset about and not do anything, it is something that we need to not be a part of and then patiently work with others and teach them what it means to live like Christ, even if it means one person at a time!
Be Blessed!
Rob
Kate –
Thanks for sharing this! I praise God for spiritual parents such as Sandy – those that God uses to speak life and truth into us. Those that love us with the unconditional love of the Father and who challenge us to grow into disciples of Christ. These relationships are cherished.

Kaitlin, you are so very special – to God, your family and your extended church family. We pray for you regularly and are going to be so excited to hear from you when you return. We want to hear all that God is showing and teaching you, and how you are sharing Christ’s love to people who may never hear about Him but through you. You are an amazing young woman and a blessing to us all.
