I was born in a town about 15 miles from where I currently live called
Conneaut. About three months after I was born my dad had a calling to
go into the ministry. Soon after that we were moved to a very small
town about 60 miles south of our home, where my dad would served his
first church. While there my younger sister was born when I was three
and my older brother was six. While there we took in my cousin Michael
who was the same age as my little sister for a few years. About two
years after that he went back to live with his family and not short
after we took in my other cousin Richard who is the same age as I am,
and has been with us ever since. My dad was at that church for ten
years. Then we came to Ashatbula and have been here ever since.
Ashtabula was a huge difference for all of us we went from a high
school from grades 6-12 with a student body of about 250 to a school
grades 9-12 with a student body of about 2800. The adjustment has been
hard but we’ve all grown to love the people and the town. Our latest
“Adventure” started last October when my parents took in an illegal
refugee from Honduras named Jose. He traveled here last May trying to
escape the horrible family tragedies he faced back home. We are
currently working with immigration to make him a citizen and are
getting closer every day. When he first came to us he didn’t speak a
word of English, but now can hold a decent conversation.I love him to
death and he is just like a brother to me. So now my parents have 5
teens living in the household along with two dogs. So theres with my
life its crazy but I love it and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
